Twitter Marketing – 5 Ways You and Your Business Can Benefit Quickly

Written by oildrops on Jan 15th, 2011 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

Twitter goes mainstream globally.

While social networking has been the latest craze online today, few
social sites have gained the type of recognition that Twitter has.
While Facebook started from the bottom and worked its way up, Twitter
has gained media attention from the get-go. With the type of media
attention that this site has gained, marketers all over have begun to
recognize this as a powerful tool for their businesses. Here are five
ways you and your business can benefit from Twitter marketing.

1. Learning tool

The first way to use Twitter is as a learning tool. Just by looking
over and monitoring different posts that are made on Twitter, you will
be amazed at the type of information and ideas you can formulate. You
can additionally use it as a real time customer research tool to find
out what customers are saying about your product.

2. Positive feedback

The great thing about Twitter is that it gives people of all kinds the
opportunity to talk about a new product or service they have just
taken advantage of. As a marketer, this allows you to gain positive
feedback off of your products or services.

3. Word of mouth

In order for you to benefit from all of this chatter, you want to take
Twitter marketing into your own hands and spread the word on your
product or business. All it takes is for you to inform a few people
each day about the opportunity you have available. As soon as one
person tells another, it will become a chain reaction.

4. Immediate impact

Instead of waiting for someone to read your email or receive your
newsletter, Twitter offers immediate attention to detail. Whether you
want to make a post about a new product you are releasing or a mega
sale that will be going on for the next two days, you can provide real
time information on this social site.

5. Promotional tool

By far the number one benefit to Twitter marketing is the fact that it
can be a highly successful promotional tool. You have the ability to
send offers and generate some appeal through quick and simple posts.
The key is to be consistent with your posts and always keep people up
to date with what is going on.

There is no question that Twitter has changed the way people network
today. You have the ability to follow the likes of Oprah, Ashton
Kutcher, Jay Leno or any other celebrity. Twitter marketing is a
terrific way to meet new people, send word of mouth about your
program, and start to make headway with your online business quickly

How to Use Twitter for Business

Written by oildrops on Jan 11th, 2011 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

Twitter has become a fast growing tool for both fun and business. If
you’re asking yourself what is Twitter and what all the hype, you’re
not alone.

Twitter is the newest and fastest growing social network to stay in
touch with friends, family and business contacts by posting 140 word
mini messages to everyone on your contact list at Twitter.

Not only can you stay in touch with friends and family, you can also
quickly increase your business connections.

Many new users are constantly asking how they can use the site more
effectively for social networking and use Twitter for business. Some
individuals want to make new friends and relationships while other
people may want to promote various kinds of products and services. If
you’re expecting to get many followers once you sign up, you’re wrong
because it still entails work before you can capture a target market.

The social community in Twitter is quite large and members come from
diverse backgrounds and interests. It can be challenging to promote
your business with only 140-character tweets.

Once you sign up and become a Twitter member, don’t blurt out about
your business at first. Just be observant and see what others are
doing. If you can find business people in Twitter, send a follow
request. By following other business people, you will also be learning
how to promote your business using Twitter. Take some time to observe
and soon you will know the power of Twitter, especially for
introducing your business and what you have to offer.

Search for groups who help new users. There are various groups in
Twitter that help other members in promoting different kinds of
business. Join groups who have a common interest as you. This is also
one way of increasing your friends. Get involved with conversations
to learn about each other’s businesses. By exchanging ideas,
questions, and answers, you can establish long term relationships.

Many groups succeed in Twitter because they joined efforts in
promoting each other’s products or services. If you think you can’t
make it on your own, join a group. This is one great thing about
Twitter because many individuals can type in their comments
simultaneously. It’s very effective for communicating with each other
and sharing great ideas.

Update your tweets regularly. Don’t promote your business all the
time. No one wants to read business blurbs all the time. Write
something that is helpful and interesting other than business.
Building long term relationships is important. Listening to what
others have to say is also important. Being a good listener helps
others feel that they are important too. When you give your trust and
when someone trusts you, people are more inclined to take a serious
look at your business. Building relationships should not be overlooked
by new users if they want to succeed in any endeavor.

Millions of people use Twitter everyday. If you can tap a certain
percentage of these users, you can make a lot of friends and probably
promote your business. Twitter success can happen only if you know how
to use the site properly.

The reason why so many individuals fail in Twitter is because they
tend to promote their business more rather than giving more attention
to the needs of the market. Studying the market is imperative if you
want any kind of business to succeed. Listen to the feedbacks of your
friends and prospects.

Determine their needs and wants. Once you get these pieces of
information, you will know what to do. Twitter is also known as a form
of microblogging. Create unique and interesting microblogs. When these
tweets are send to your friends and prospects, they will know what
you’re up to and they can easily feel if you’re sincere and true to
your words.

Join Twitter today and start tweeting! It’s free and one of the most
popular social networks on the net.

Web 2.0 Marketing and Ways to Do It

Written by oildrops on Jan 7th, 2011 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

Internet users are using web 2.0 marketing for effective utilization
of the web resources so that it leads to higher online business
profits. There are several ways by which you can make your internet
marketing function. Use of social websites and blogs play significant
part in it, for instance facebook, MySpace, Blogger, WordPress, etc to
name a few.

You can find many PHP based forums that draws greater number of online
visitors. Different types of social media sites are found like
YouTube, Flickr, Delicious, etc. These sites receive huge traffic of
visitors day-in and day-out. Utilize this medium and make use of the
opportunity.

In web 2.0 marketing certain aspects or factors are to be kept in
consideration so that you get expected results and benefits.

When you go about launching marketing campaign of any sort for your
business, it is essential to set goals that are expected out of web
2.0 marketing. When your company is not clear with its marketing plan
than you might think that there is no advantage of writing blogs, do
viral marketing or podcasts.

You should know about your particular set of user community. Many
people commit the blunder of generalizing a particular set of people
and then using the same rules for others as well. User communities
that are important from web 2.0 perspective should be given extra
preference and interacted with. Take note about things that put effect
on them and regulates their conversations. It would be great if you
are able to figure out the topics that creates interest in the people.

The techniques and tools that you use for the web 2.0 marketing should
be measurable. It is very important if you desire to manage your
efforts and meet the objectives. This process may take some time and
can be hectic also, but give positive results.

Combine your web 2.0 marketing methods with SEO. Your site ranking
gets affected by blogging that you do and it impacts the web search
done by users. Keep your blog content rich with proper keywords/phrase
use so that you get incoming links to your site.

You can provide HTML forms in the web 2.0 marketing application so
that the users can invite their friends or acquaintances via e-mails.
This can be termed as word of mouth marketing and prove to be very
beneficial for your business.

The approach towards target customers and the way web 2.0 marketing is
done influences the overall profit level as well as web traffic level.

What is Twitter and How Can it Help My Business?

Written by oildrops on Jan 3rd, 2011 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of
Twitter by now, the social networking and micro-blogging service that
has taken the internet by storm. But just what is Twitter, why should
i use it and how can it help me or my business? These are some of the
questions most frequently asked of me by my clients and colleagues.

Twitter is unique amongst the social networking services in that it
allows you to very quickly build up a “following” of like minded
people, or people that may be interested in a product or service
you’re selling. Unlike Facebook, for instance, you don’t need to know
people in order to follow them or have them follow you. The key to
leveraging Twitter lies in the simple fact that roughly 40% of the
people you follow will follow you back. It’s really that simple, but
it’s also very powerful.

Think about that for a minute. If you follow 100 people, roughly 40 of
those people will follow you back and become a captive and receptive
audience for you and your tweets. Well, you might ask, what’s the big
deal? So I’ve got 40 people listening to me blabber on about what I do
during the day. Well if you have a product or service you are trying
to sell, this can be a very powerful marketing tool for two reasons.
First of all, it’s very easy to grow your Twitter following rapidly so
that those 40 followers turn into 400 and then 4000 within a matter of
weeks if you know what you’re doing. Secondly, you can target these
Twitter followers, so that those 400 or 4000 followers of yours are
likely to be interested in whatever you’re selling.

Say for example you just opened an Italian Restaurant in Chicago and
you’d like to attract some new customers. By using the Twitter search
function, you can search the text of conversations for keywords like
“pasta” or “Italian food” etc. AND you can narrow down your search
results so that you only see Twitterers who’ve discussed pasta and
Italian food within say a 25 mile radius of Chicago. Now we’re
talking! So now all you need to do is follow those people and lo and
behold, roughly 40% of them will follow you back! Now throughout the
course of the day you can occasionally slip in a tweet about your new
delicious pasta specials for the evening, or maybe link to a review of
your new restaurant, you get the idea. This is an incredibly powerful
marketing technique, because you can really laser target your
prospects and build up a huge number of followers in a very short
time.

The key to making this work smoothly and to build up your followers
quickly is to use automation. Luckily there are a number of tools
available to help you quickly target and follow Twitterers within your
niche. The two I recommend are Bird Feeder and Hummingbird.

The way Hummingbird works, is that you identify other Twitterers with
large followings and then follow their followers. So for example, if
you’re selling baby products, you might try and search for a Twitterer
who also sells baby products or who offers advice and guidance to new
moms. There’s your captive audience right there. So then you launch
Hummingbird and use it to follow all the Twitterers who are already
following the person offering the advice to new moms. Hummingbird will
auto-follow all these people with the click of a button and in just a
matter of minutes, you can follow hundreds of Twitterers, with many
following you back.

Bird Feeder is a bit more sophisticated, in that it allows you to not
only follow other Twitterers followers, but also leverages the Twitter
search functionality, so that you can (like in our Italian restaurant
example) target just people within a certain geographic area who used
a certain keyword phrase. Then, like Hummingbird, you can click a
button and Bird Feeder will auto-follow just the Twitterers who meet
the search criteria you specified.

This is the heart of Twitter marketing. Find people you want to
target, based on your niche or product or service, follow them and
then rinse and repeat. You can very quickly build up a massive
following of laser targeted Twitterers who are a receptive audience to
whatever it is you’re trying to market or sell.

What is Twitter is a comprehensive resource offering tips, articles,
products and resources to help businesses and individuals make the
most of this social networking phenomenon and to help answer the
question, Just exactly What is Twitter?

How Web 2.0 Can Increase Website Traffic

Written by oildrops on Dec 30th, 2010 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

1. Introduction

Web 2.0 is the latest buzzword in Internet marketing. All it really
means is going “social” with your marketing. Basically, Web 2.0 is a
platform that allows people to connect, interact with the website and
with each other and share information online.

Your clients are no longer isolated. They interact, they talk to each
other, they exchange impressions that become a collective impression
about your product or service

Therefore, Web 2.0 encompasses all online communities like blogs and
social networking websites like MySpace.com ,
Facebook.com,Twitter.com, Squidoo.com, video sharing websites like
YouTube.com, social bookmarking sites like Del.icio.us.com, Digg.com,
StumbleUpon.com etc.

Free-traffic has become a huge possibility, thanks to Web 2.0 sites
here users have a high level of interaction, passing around
information to each other. These sites have become a goldmine for
Internet marketers and provide a lot more traffic than even the search
engines can turn up.

2. How Web 2.0 can increase your website traffic

We can identify three main components in Web 2.0 as follows:

a) Popular Web 2.0 community-based websites where you are allowed to
insert your URL. This will help people who want to share your
information, making your URL more visible as it gets passed around and
this, in turn, brings back more traffic to your website. Moreover
one-way links allow to achieve better search engine page rankings. On
most of these sites you will find also a Forum or a discussion board
that allows its members to discuss any topic, to exchange opinions and
to know each other better.

b) Blogs and websites that become a must-see destination for people of
a chosen niche. They must be of high quality in order to attract fans
and they will increase traffic. The most essential ingredient of the
Web 2.0 blog is the content element. There should be keyword rich
quality content to attract people.

c) Another Web 2.0 approach is to use social bookmarking. Some
examples are del.icio.us, Digg, Furl. Reddit and sphinn. They can be
very effective in generating traffic. As an example Delicious is a
social bookmarking system that is very popular with bloggers and
websites alike. The site has an interesting approach to content
building. Rather than publish interesting content and getting worried
when there’s no fresh content, publishers are looking at users of the
site to build, classify and qualify content. There’s value in
collaboration.

Apart from bookmarking the web page, users can also tag the web page.
Tags are the keywords that relate to the content on the page. By
tagging, you can associate the keywords with the content. If there are
many people using the same tags to bookmark a page then that page will
be seen as an authority page in its category. The most bookmarks your
web page receives from various delicious users, the more prominent
will be the listing of your web page on the site. Delicious users are
allowed to bookmark and tag several pages in a website. You can tag
the content with more than one term. As the number of tags by users
grows, you find it easier to access similar topics.

A major reason to use Delicious is to share useful information. As a
delicious user, you can store your favorite websites or online
resources and make this available to other users online. A lot of
people browse through delicious to find valuable information they are
looking for. On this social bookmarking website, you can use RSS feeds
to syndicate user bookmarks or to collect information that has the
same tags. Users can also syndicate bookmarks created by other users
who use RSS feeds. The great thing here is there is a wealth of user
generated content.

3. Conclusions

The article is just a short introduction to the main features of Web
2.0. We hope to have raised some interest and we invite the reader to
read more on this subjects and find sites which explain better how to
benefit from these new approaches.

How Real Estate Professionals Build a Massive Following on Twitter

Written by oildrops on Dec 26th, 2010 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

Social networking offers a great opportunity for Realtors. Through the
use of social media and supporting sites like photo and video sharing,
you can easily meet new leads daily. What are the best ways to get new
followers on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook?

Software to Generate Followers

There is no shortage of people competing for the highest number of
followers they can get. Several pieces of software are available to
help you create tens of thousands of followers in a very short amount
of time. If you’d rather stick with a few hundred or thousand
followers, finding them manually may be your best option.

Hummingbird and Mr. Tweet are two very popular pieces of software to
help increase your followers. Most follower generation software is
free, but some of it offers other perks that help manage your list and
even send automated messages round the clock. Twitter users around the
globe would have a higher chance of seeing your tweets with such
software.

Suggested Users

The “Suggested Users” feature scours other profiles that are similar
to yours and recommends a list of several Twitter users. Simply click
the ones you’d like to follow and click the appropriate button to
follow them. If you come to find that they are spammers or they post
messages you don’t care to read, removing them from your list is as
easy as a few clicks.

Tweets, Re-tweets and Re-follows

Twitter’s message system allows you to microblog up to 140 characters
in a message. This message, similar to an instant message or a text
message, is called a tweet. The people who are currently following you
will see all of your tweets. People who are watching the “Everyone”
tab will also see, although messages there tend to disappear quickly!

Re-tweets are your messages that your followers feel are important
enough to copy to their followers. A re-tweet will contain your
username so others who see it may also become followers. The more
important or useful your tweets, the more they will be re-tweeted.

Re-follows are just as they sound. When someone follows you, take the
time to follow them. You may follow and un-follow anyone at any given
time. Following more people is the best way to ensure a high number of
followers yourself.

Follow Other Realtors

Look for other Realtors that have several followers and follow them.
The purpose of social media is to spread the word about others as much
as your own business. When you prove yourself trustworthy and
informative, other Realtors will re-tweet your tweets. Re-tweets are
Twitter’s form of word of mouth advertising. Tweets and re-tweets are
sent immediately to thousands of people.

Follow Other Twitter Users Who Have a Large Following

Others who have a high number of followers often follow you when you
follow them. Use that to your advantage. Follow people with thousands
of followers and take the time to click through their followers. You
may find that you have more in common with them than the simple fact
that you’d like to sell them real estate. Creating friendships via
social networking is a great way to build your reputation as a
successful Realtor.

Quality Tweets

Don’t spam your followers. They follow you for up to date information
on property listings and other interesting real estate related
business. Read what they have to say and answer their questions
promptly. When you tweet about something that your followers found
informative or useful, they will usually take the time to re-tweet it.
Their tweets reach their followers and the spread of your original
message grows exponentially.

How to Twitter – Relationship Marketing to Create Powerful Customer

Written by oildrops on Dec 22nd, 2010 | Filed under: Twitter Marketing

Bonding and Loyalty Instantly

Twitter is the quickest, easiest way to put your relationship
marketing on steroids. You can create customer bonding and loyalty in
as little as just one tweet.

I believe Twitter is actually a pre-selling machine. Every tweet that
you send out has the potential to create red hot pre-sold prospects
attracted to your service, brand, product or business.

Here’s the key: Find out what people want and feed it to them over and
over again.

The more you execute this Twitter trick, the more social influence you
can exert among your followers.

An easy way is to do it through Twittersheep.com. It should tell you
what your Twitter followers are talking about and interested in. You
might not know what they are actually interested in because you can
get random followers from unrelated areas.

You can determine if your follower’s interest is marketing or iPhone
apps or some other niche, then feed them that kind of information over
and over again. People respond well to things that they like, and
they won’t get bored with that.

You can go one deeper. The thing with Twittersheep is that it’s quite
general. You have general categories like marketing or sales, etc.
However, you want to know, on a micro level, what your followers are
interested in. This is really powerful because…

You can transform customer delight into a science.

I send out random links, quotes or tips to my Twitter stream and I
track and test their responses. I see how many of them get re-tweeted
or a response and what the click-through rate is.

If there are content with a higher click-through or re-tweet rate, I
put it in the automated Tweet sequence.

These people are now getting more and more drawn to you. The chances
are if you use attraction marketing the first time, you can keep and
hold their attention (and their wallets) using the same formula over
and over again.

If people follow me on Twitter, they get put into an automated tweet
stream that pre-sells them to me.

This is just one of the little-know secrets to putting Twitter
marketing
to work for you, and take your relationship marketing to a
whole new level.

Bringing a burst of traffic to your website is simple with Web 2.0.
Web 2.0 provides social networking, social book marking, social news,
and social media sites to its users. These networking centers
establish numerous avenues for website owners to enhance traffic
visiting their site. Some of the methods which are used to increase
website traffic are Digg, Freeware, Yahoo Answers, Slideshare, article
marketing, blogs, videos, and press releases, just to name a few. The
ways to increase website traffic through Web 2.0 are seemingly endless
and automatic; all you have to do is pick a starting point and cover
as many of the methods as possible.

Web 2.0 and the rapid growth of sites such as MySpace, Facebook,
Orkut, YouTube and others has increased the opportunity for highly
targeted traffic funneling into your website. For example, within the
social networking sites you can spread information about your website
through messages and on-line forums. With social media sites like
YouTube you can create free slide shows and videos and link them to
various websites and blogs. As interest in these networking sites is
exploding every day, it is imperative for success that you post links
and information about your website on these sites. This will enable
you to survive the competition, and drive highly targeted traffic to
your website.

The social book marking sites like Digg, allow the users to bookmark
their favorite sites and share these sites with others. These “book
markings” are very important weapons in your website promotion
arsenal. Apart from Digg, there are Web 2.0 strategies like Yahoo
Answers where you respond to posts while attaching a link to your
website either in your post or signature line. It is important that
your posts are of value and not spam. The links placed in the forums
are a great method for sending visitors to your website.

Another way to maximize Web 2.0 for traffic enhancement is by
blogging. By creating your own specialized product related blog you
can dramatically push more traffic to your website. By doing this you
are pushing more traffic and by adding a link to your website in your
blog you are funneling highly targeted traffic. These are key points
to your success. Blogs are free and easy to set up with sites like
Blogger and Wordpress. Another way to promote traffic to your website
is by guest blogging on other similar product related blogs, therefore
creating even more links to your website. More links equals more
focused traffic!

A new Web 2.0 take on article marketing is to turn you article into a
video, forum post, or guest blog post. Make a video presentation of
your article by using Camtasia or Keynote for Mac. Publish the video
on You Tube with text links in your video to your website and watch
the traffic pour in. Take snippets of your article and post on
Twitter, Facebook and My Space. You’ll peak so much interest people
will flood to your website!

With Web 2.0, the traffic to your website will be increased in an
amazing way. Getting involved in these social networking, book
marking, forums and blogs can be a fun and effective method for
bringing highly targeted traffic to your website.
