Ganoderma Herbal Supplements – Natures Gift to Humanity
By R.G. Srinivasan

Use of herbs and herbal therapies has been an integral part of the Asian life and culture from time immemorial. China, India and Japan have their distinct herbal therapies, which have been effectively used to prevent and cure many ailments and disease.

The use of herbs and herbal nutritional supplements has now been widely accepted by the western society. It is surprising and ironical that West is now embracing herbal therapies with enthusiasm while east is more inclined more towards contemporary medicine.

In this context, perhaps ganoderma is one herbal product that has held its pre-eminent importance in the pharmacopoeia of China and Japan. With increasing research and clinical trials proving its efficacy in a wide range of disease prevention and control, west has shown a keen interest in this mysterious herb.

Ganoderma is not just a nutritional supplement but a miraculous herb for its health giving properties and an anti-aging natural food that actually help prevent as well as help reverse many diseases like cancer, arthritis, diabetes, obesity, cardiac problems to mention a few of the major ones where clinical trials have consistently established its efficacy.

Traditionally, ganoderma grew in dense humid forests on fallen trees in the ratio of 3 to 4 trees out of maybe ten thousand. The Chinese kings sought them out and only the royalty had the access to the rare mushrooms.

With the passage of time and the highest degree of curative properties ascribed to the ganoderma by the traditional Chinese medicinal textbooks, research for growing the rare mushrooms began in earnest in China and Japan.

Cultivation of ganodrma has been attempted for centuries with least success due to the complexity of the environment and nutrient required to grow the ganoderma mushrooms.

During 1970 breakthrough was made by a noted Japanese researcher Yukio Naoi of Kyoto University in growing the ganoderma. Since then the ganoderma mushroom began to be grown in quantity and quality but not enough to meet the demand yet. Another Noteworthy contribution to growing ganoderma has been by Dr. Lim Siow Jin a well know researcher and originator of Ganotherapy. He perfected the growing of Ganoderma in a controlled environment. He is a recognized authority on this unique herb and its health giving properties.

The main properties of ganoderma as herbal and nutritional supplements

It is the best adaptogen known to man and works on the cellular level. It is not disease specific but health specific and works in balancing the body functions, removes toxins and overall retards the aging process.

Ganoderma is classified as a food supplement by most countries, so there is no dosage restriction and can be had in any quantity without side effects. It is also suitable for consumption for all ages from a newborn baby to the most invalid or aged persons with visible improvements in health.

This is also perhaps the only single herbal source, which is rich in medicinal components such as Polysaccharides, Organic Germanium, Adenosine, triterpenoids and ganoderic essence.

Ganoderma is non-toxic and non-addictive.

The Ganoderma herb does not interact with other lines of treatment. It complements the same.

Many leading universities and research institutions are working to establish the efficacy of ganodermas curative properties with clinical trials. The internet has made available an abundance of research papers and details of clinical trials for those interested.

However, it is difficult for the extensive commercialization of ganoderma as a prescription drug due to it being an herb and a plant source which pharmaceutical companies may not be able to patent.

Leaving out the medicinal issues, ganoderma is undoubtedly a herb that needs to be part of every persons diet as an excellent nutritional supplement and a preventive herb for the many health hazards faced by the modern society.

Walking to find a cure for arthritis
B.W. COOK

More than $82,000 was raised at the recent Arthritis Walk at the Huntington Beach Pier. Organizers reported that the donations are still coming in from the recent walk, which attracted more than 600 participants, many from Newport-Mesa.

Chaired by Chris Stoeri on behalf of the Orange County branch of the Arthritis Foundation, the event’s proceeds will be earmarked for the control and possible cure of the disease, specifically benefiting O.C. patients.

May was National Arthritis Month and Stoeri said that as many as a million O.C. citizens have arthritis.

For more information on how you can help, please call Lori Contant, executive director of the Arthritis Foundation at (714) 436-1623.

Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage and his bride Alice Kim will follow in the legendary footsteps of John Wayne and family in establishing residence on the water of the main channel of the Newport Harbor.

Cage reportedly paid more than $20 million for a major contemporary estate in a quiet transaction that will provide the talented actor sanctuary for his new family.

The pair was spotted shopping at South Coast Plaza recently, visiting the Gucci and Bvlgari boutiques. Fear not, Cage — who reportedly earned in excess of $20 million each for two recent films, “Windtalkers” and “Gone in 60 Seconds” — will enjoy shopping at South Coast Plaza (dubbed “The Ultimate Shopping Resort”) to furnish his new residence, and fill his new closets.

In other celeb sightings, or rather anticipated sightings, Marie Osmond — America’s sweetheart in the ’70s and ’80s — is planning a visit to Disneyland on July 14 and 15 for a little meet and greet with fans at the unveiling of Osmond’s Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Doll.

The figure will be the first in a series of three princess dolls created by Osmond and officially released as part of Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary celebration. Osmond will be at the Disneyland Hotel.

Discover Which Fruit and Vegetables Help Relieve Arthritic Pain

Discover Which Fruit and Vegetables Help Relieve Arthritic Pain
by Emily Clark

If you or someone you know suffers from rheumatoid arthritis, you
know how painful and debilitating it can be. If you haven’t
walked a mile in those shoes, you can’t imagine how frustrating
it can be. Your doctor may say try this medication, try that.
Don’t do this, do that. But sometimes, to no avail. The disease
is caused by a misguided immune system attack on the body’s own
joint tissue, which leads to swelling, pain, stiffness and in
some cases deformity. Rheumatoid arthritis is more common among
women than men.

Perhaps what you’re eating, or more specifically what you’re not
eating can be causing some of your soreness. Recent findings
suggest that a diet high in fruits, vegetables, legumes and
certain oils aids in relieving symptoms in people with rheumatoid
arthritis. After following a diet rich in fruits and veggies for
three months, people with rheumatoid arthritis experienced a
number of improvements not seen in people following a typical
American diet high in processed foods. Some of the improvements
shown include a decrease in pain, inflammation, disease activity
and in the number of swollen joints. Further, previous research
suggested that more olive oil and cooked vegetables help protect
people from the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

The current results suggest that “patients with (rheumatoid
arthritis) can obtain better physical function and increase their
vitality” from eating a fruit, vegetables, legumes and some oils
diet for three months, write Dr. Lars Skoldstam of Visby Hospital
in Sweden and colleagues.

This plan is similar to that of people who live in the
Mediterranean. They also tend to eat a lot of fruit, vegetables,
and legumes, more fish and less red meat. Moreover, they drink a
moderate amount of wine, and rely on olive oil as their main
source of dietary fat. Earlier research has suggested that
followers of this diet enjoy a wide range of benefits, such as a
lower risk of heart disease, cancer and memory loss.

Additional studies have shown that citrus and zinc may also cut
rheumatoid arthritis risk. Citrus can be helpful because of the
antioxidants they contain. Findings are not conclusive, yet
promising.

In the study, the doctors found that women getting less than 40
micrograms of beta-cryptoxanthin, a component found in citrus
fruits such as oranges and grapefruit were at a somewhat elevated
danger of developing rheumatoid arthritis than women who consumed
more than that amount.

Although thus far it has only been proven that genetics is the
culprit behind rheumatoid arthritis, if there have been some
findings as to the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables,
wouldn’t it make sense for suffers to up their intake? It
certainly can’t hurt… and may actually help. Now please pass the
broccoli with a side of grapefruit!

Stop Suffering With Arthritis Pain Today!
by: Janet Hahn, CPRS

MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane) is a nutritional supplement derived from natural organic sulfur. It has been found to have tremendous pain relieving benefits for multiple ailments. MSM has the ability to relieve inflammation and resulting pain associated with arthritis.

Clinical Research Reveals The Medicinal Power Of MSM

Clinical research has shown MSM to alleviate pain, reduce stiffness and swelling and improve the mobility of joints. MSM also promotes blood flow aiding the healing and recovery process after physical activity. Doctors report that MSM is so effective that they often are able to lower or even stop the dosages of medication they are prescribing for their patients.

Although MSM is a breakthrough remedy for arthritis sufferers its benefits are beyond the treatment of this disease. There are substantial clinical experiences proving the benefits of MSM regarding sprains and their healing time. Follow this link to read more: http://www.msm.com/MSMResearch.cfm

The Phosoplexâ„¢ MSM Connection

Lisa a tennis pro from Franklin Lakes New Jersey has been using MSM for almost three years. Lisa states, “ MSM keeps me on the court and teaching. I heal faster from minor pulls and feel better than I did five years ago on the court. I will continue with MSM supplementation.

Ray a retired used car salesman has been using a product called Phosoplex™ containing MSM for three months. Ray states, Phosoplex has really eased the pain. My arthritis was getting unbearable since I stooped taking doctor prescribed drugs. Phosoplex has been a pleasant surprise because I thought I was going to have to get on a prescription again which is a scary thought in this day and age.”

There are numerous formulas that contain MSM. Phosoplex™ from Optimal Therapeutics stands out because it combines MSM with other beneficial ingredients such as BioCell Collagen II® and Nextrutine™ aiding the arthritis sufferer. Combining quality ingredients in a formula like Phosoplex™ makes for a synergistic effect between the ingredients. Results are even more pronounced than when MSM is used in an individual supplement. Either in a quality formulation like Phosoplex™ or as a stand alone MSM is definitely worth a try.
