I ordered the 6th edition and received the 5th edition. However, delivery was fast, but i still have to return the book. WOuld recommand everyone to ask a question to the seller before ordering the book just to make sure that the book YOU need is the one Seller is selling! ! It sucks when you receive a wrong book and have a quiz next day in the class ! !

Excellent BASIC Health Information
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I read this book for a college health class. It is full of great information. I love how it personalizes the information for the reader. For example, it includes many surveys that help the reader assess his/her own health in the area described. It is definitely written with a college-age reader in mind; topics often focus on issues young people would be facing. Like the title says, it covers the BASICS; it briefly touches on most areas of health, going into adequate detail but doesn’t exhaustively explore any one topic. It is an excellent overview/introduction to the most common or important health concerns.

Yes, it is the basics
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Health the Basics is just that and nothing more. Needed this book for a required class and will probably never look at it again after the semester.

I bought this book to go along with my college health class. Very informative, and I could see it being used for personal growth. Some sections were very text like, but it did incorporate fun.

Terrible book
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
From what I can tell, this book has no editing. The self-help quizzes were often nonsensical, the information was either common sense or obsolete, and some information had been proven incorrect several years before the date of publication. The quizzes that the instructor gave us had incorrect “correct” answers. By that I mean the quizzes that came with the teaching edition of the book. The professor, in fact, notified us of this at the beginning of the class. I feel sorry for the men who took this class, since the book seemed to be geared more towards females. The only thing this book does, if taken seriously, is cause the reader to become hypochondriac.

first time buyer

It was the first time I purchase a book from amazon and am very impressed with the service. The book from the seller was in great condition just like brand new. Would definitely purchase again.

Really basic
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I just bought this book, second hand, for $3, because I need it for some college class. The real price for this book is waaaaaayyyy to high.
The information on the book seemed to belong more to a primary school book and it was also kind of biased, if not totally wrong sometimes.
Some information was obsolete, but maybe it was fixed in the next edition even if I doubt it.
If you are required to buy this book for school, you have no choice (but go second hand!!). If not, stay away and find something with more accurate information.

BORING!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This book is dull and boring….in fact, I would never have purchased it if it wasn’t required for my college class. Everything in here is common sense or if you watch the news, you all ready know everything presented. I started reading the first chapter and it completely put me to sleep, now when preping for a test, I mearly browse through the book and read the required definitions that will be on the test.

There was a bit of hi-lighting and some wear and tear but in the condition described. I was happy with this purchase.
