Great equipment! We purchased two for bilateral exercise.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
A therapist recommended bilateral bike exercise for our daughter post stroke. Since she has no balance we purchased two of these to be used simultaneously while she sits in a chair - one under the table for her feet and one on the table for her hands. They work perfectly. In reading about brain plasticity we are encouraged that moving in this way may help her to recoup more of the losses she has suffered.

Excellent
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought it becuase of the color (less dirt shown), but it turned out to be much more than what I expected. It is an excellent buy because of its price and effectiveness of the work out you get from using it.

It's exercise because you have to battle it to get it to work.
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Product looks fine, assembly was easy as could be, but once we got it set up... It was unlike any other bike type THING I've ever used. The only thing it has in common is that it has pedals.

As someone else mentioned, the resistance is either nothing or stuck. If you manage, somehow, to get it to the resistance you want, you'll pedal along just fine for a bit and then just suddenly get stuck. Probably once every thirty seconds. So you're starting to get into your set routine pace and then it locks up and you have to get it all set back up. Reason I say you have to get "set back up" is because it will not stay put. They might as well have put oil on the feet instead of rubber for how much it moves around. Chances are, if you are using it at work and you have a chair with wheels, you'll be moving backwards if you can find a position for the bike to stay in and not move from. I've found myself *holding onto* my desk to keep from moving backwards while using this.

I'm sure there are other similar, light-weight products on the market. Save yourself from wanting to strangle someone and just buy one of those. They're more than bound to be better than this piece of junk.

Perfect for what it is
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have always been used to being able to move around a lot. Sitting in an office chair for hours upon end is like a small, personal hell with the knee problems I have. I got this to supplement my workouts, break up the monotony, get the blood moving and keep my knees limber. Under my desk does not really work, my knees hit the top, but I put it off to the side, grab some reports and go. This is not going to get you in shape at all but it will help with general maintenance and if you have pain, mobility problems this gentle, easy bike is perfect.

Disapointed with timer
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I'm pleased with the instride cycle over all, but disapointed that the second or third time I used it I hit the timmer with my foot wile tying to place my feet in the straps and broke the times off. I can still use it but it will not go back on the cycle. Other than that the price was a good deal, I priced them in different places.

therapists love it
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my Dad that is going through chemo. As an occupational therapist, it was an item I was very familiar with already. I knew with approaching bad weather, Dad would be getting out far less. He had already lost strenth overall and his walking was becoming more of an issue. Since Dad has gotten the cycle, he has used it daily. The timer works well to help keep him motivated and as a way to work on improving his workout. He not only uses it on the floor for his legs but on the table for his arms. Works best when the cycle is put against something like a wall or large piece of furniture so it can not move while he pedals. Also works better to sit in a kitchen or desk chair versus sitting in a recliner. He has now started to use some resistance. For someone at his health level it provides a good workout.

Several happy owners in this family
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have bought two of these. One is for my wife, who is not in physical therapy and has no particular joint problems, but who has a lot of nervous energy and gets very figdety at work, and hit upon the idea of getting one of these to keep underneath her desk at work so she can pedal during the day. This reduces her need to get up and walk around the office on a periodic basis and helps her to focus more.

Then, after my mom found out about it, she wanted one too, so I got her one too. She has had a knee replacement surgery approximately five years ago and although the knee is fine, she has had a few ancillary problems with muscle soreness and pain in her legs. After only a couple days of using this bike for 15 minutes she says that everything feels better already.

So, although I haven't used the product myself, the whole family seems pretty pleased with it. I should stress that in neither case are they trying to use this device for fitness and exercise, for which I would imagine a stationary bike would be better.

Limited usefulness
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I bought this little portable cycle to use while recovering from a stress fracture in my foot. It's not bad for the price, but you do get what you pay for. When it is on very low resistance (practically none) I had no problems pedaling it. It wasn't loud, it didn't slip too much and it had a relatively smooth motion. At the very beginning of my recovery, that was about all I felt up to anyway.

Within a couple of weeks, my foot began to heal and I tried to up the resistance. The motion instantly became jerky and awkward. To overcome that, I would try to dig in more and that made the cycle slide forward-- or rather, thud forward as the rubber foot grips would twist sideways and need to be corrected before I could continue.

For those recovering from an injury or looking for a very light workout, this could be a good fit. (Do heed the included warnings, though - the center does get very hot after use!) Keep in mind that it will not replace a full exercise bike or be of much use to someone in good condition who exercises regularly.

Herky-Jerky
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The InStride Cycle is too big to fit under any desk and slides along the carpet. The motion is also herky-jerky and the resistance is not consistent. I could barely get enough resistance for anything meaningful. It is OK if you use just your toes, but of course you bang your knees on the desk. I do NOT recommend this.

Not as good as expected.
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
You have to crank down the tension screw extremely hard to get any resistance in the pedals. Its real bad at scooting across the floor.
